Description:
Episode: "Neue Medikamente" (1.08)
In this
German crime series from the early 1970s, a rich businessman's wife is
kidnapped by a pair of crooks in a typically 'classical' type of kidnapping
scene. Frau Greven (Capelle), a blue-eyed brunette, is grabbed and handgagged
at 6mins just as she answers a phone call. She is next shown at 9-10mins,
sitting in the back seat of the crooks' car; her hands are tied in front with
rope, and her feet are also tied (one foot is bare, the other clad in a white
wedge).
When they
stop at a red light, she begins to scream for help at a nearby police officer.
This earns her a wad of white cloth stuffed in her mouth, followed by a
patterned cream-coloured scarf tied as an OTM gag; all onscreen. At 11-13mins
she is carried over the shoulder into a deserted warehouse, where her hands are
first untied and re-tied behind her back onscreen, after which she is sat down
on a crate. Lots of mmpphhing and moaning; she really hams up the role of a
traditional damsel.
As soon as
they leave, she carefully stands up and hobbles over to a wooden post,
mmpphhing quietly but continuously. At 15mins she uses a nail on the post to
work off the gag, then screams loudly for help from a window; this proves
futile, for there is nobody outside to hear her in the night. Instead, she sits
back down to work on freeing her hands using a sharp edge, which she manages to
do with success at 17mins, as well as untying her feet.
