At the end of episode 39, Lani (Femi Emiola) is kidnapped offscreen after leaving the hospital. We see her at the very end as blonde villainess Blythe (Tatum O'Neal) reveals that she has Lani bound and cleave gagged in her house. We see her bound and gagged at the start of episode 40 while Blythe taunts her for a bit before ungagging her. She is then shown bound but not gagged over the remainder of the episode as well as throughout several episodes to follow. She has an escape attempt around episode 45 but is caught again and retied to her chair.
