The first live-action scene by an actress portraying Lois Lane is something of a disappointment, given that the bondage appears to be largely only implied. At the beginning of the episode-in a sequence reprising the action at the end of the previous installment-Lois and a male companion are led blindfolded into the hideout of the villain, a female mastermind known as the "Spider Lady." She's stood up next to an electrified web which draws her towards it when the villainess energizes it, then shocks her into unconsciousness as she writhes and shrieks. A few minutes later she's shown in the back seat of a car leaving the hideout, still blindfolded and with her arms in a position implying her hands are tied behind her. When Superman (Kirk Alyn) comes to the rescue, he stands between us and Lois while apparently removing the ropes from her wrists before lifting her from the car.
Chapter 9: Irresistible Force
Noel discovers the crooks lair in a museum and tries to telephone for help, but is grabbed from behind. She is pulled into a lab where she is tightly laced to a chair and gagged with a black cloth wrapped over her mouth. Ropes circle her body around her chest, and keep her hands behind her back. A device is set to blow up her and the lab. Superman breaks in to save her in the nick of time, and after he frees her from the chair he carries her from the lab.
