During an extended drought, an aging rancher decides to build an Ark and include pretty Anne Carmody (West) has one of the animals he'll place on board two-by-two - along with hero Tom Brewster (Will Hutchins). Anne is a trusting sort of girl, so when the old coot lures her to his wagon by telling her he has a big surprise, she doesn't register any dismay when he handcuffs her wrists behind her back and only reacts indignantly when he covers her mouth with a dark colored bandanna. She doesn't even flee when the rancher lowers the back of his wagon and permits him to place her on its floor and behind her ankles with rope. Perhaps seeing Brewster in a same predicament assuaged her fears. Action starts about the 14-minute mark (no commercials) and continues to about the 19-minute mark. In the interim, Brewster manages to work off his gag and pull down Anne's with his teeth.

Once at the ranch, Anne and Brewster are chained to a post in a barn and spend the next 15 minutes or so discussing how to escape. Brewster finally manages to heat the coals in a forge hot enough to allow him to cut the chains with blacksmith tools.

Anne is wearing a standard issue late-19th century dress.
